What is your opinion on the 3 1/2 ounce BM Needle, the one that has the cutouts around the eyes like a Super Strike? I saw a few at a tackle shop still on the wall and was thinking of buying a few. Who knows when he'll make these again. I don't want a needle that would sink like a rock, as I mostly fish shallow, bony areas. What do you think? Also, how deep do the BM Cowboys run? I hear they are going to be out very shortly. Do they run like a Tatto Diving Swimmer? Thanks for your input guys.

The beachmaster "Johnny Wad" or super strike "style" is a very versatile needle. It is one of my go-to Block Island needles, a place where shallow runners shine, but it can also be run deep by the count down method. It does not sink as fast as say a 2 ounce Habs, but it will stay down if needed. Also, it is a very stable needle in big water. Many guys won't go anywhere without at least one of these needles in their bag, myself included.

Underated needle for sure. When the SWE had them (2+ years ago now) we actually had some people complain they didn't cast well and weren't catching fish.

To each their own I guess. I bought a few when they arrived and then bought 2 dozen more in case they were never made again. They've accounted for some big fish in the past few years.

STILL waiting on Cowboys. Hopefully before spring? They'll be announced here first.

my goto plug for most of the summer. it can be fished in a puddle if need be. i am going to stock up too on them. they seem to be rapidly disappearing.
