Default Sticky van staal

After fishing this morning (power plant outflow ) i came home and realized that my VS was cranking really weird. It sticks, or gets tougher to reel when the shaft is just about all the way extended and then again on the way down. At first i thought maybe because it was cold the grease got stiffer, but after warming the reel up it still was sticky. The reel is practically brand new. Got it for x mas. Any ideas or solutions?

Sorry I didn't notice this here Steve. Let me know how you make out with the reel.

The double thread was anything but an issue Steve. This board is still young so I was just wishing I had spotted this thread first before I found the one on s-b.com so the discussion would have been here instead.

Hi Steve,

You hit it on the head. In an effort to prevent spam we've resorted to putting every new user's first post into moderation. Valid posts like yours get approved and we move users into an "approved" user group so all future posts take place right away. Sorry about any inconvenience.

It was a bit chilly

I've been scoping a new spot, trying it during the day time, to see what point in the tide i can get out on the bars.

Last two times i have been to the spot though, it has been slow. Beats sitting around doing nothing however.
