Default The End of USPS

Earlier this year we started offering United States Parcel Service as a shipping option to help customers save a couple $$ per order. Due to spectacularly poor reliability and a serious tendency towards being late resulting in disappointed customers we've decided to cut our losses and give up on USPS. There's no reason a package should take over a week to go from us to Montauk. I could walk it there quicker...

If you want it done right, ship it brown...

Thumbs down The USPS

I have terrible trouble with the post office and shipping things lately. I think there is a post man somewhere on the Jersy shore with a bag full of Habs and Smith plugs that got 'lost in the mail'

Now all we need is some gourmet wood to fill up those brown trucks with....

Default yes...

This has been a ruff issue the past few weeks... It's frustrating to do a good job and then have a customer disappointed in the end when a package takes too long to get there. I think we can make a strong case for UPS based on the positive effects of the level of service/speed of delivery. That only leaves two issues:

-how do we reward the $100+ order w/o giving away the farm?
-what options exist to save money in shipping for smaller orders (it stinks to order VMCs & split rings and get whacked for $6.49)

Hey Pete good for you, It's more expensive to go brown but it's well worth it in the long run. You can't run a business chasing lost packages and credit card chargebacks.

Default USPS is out! Good for you!

Good for you Pete! I know how they operate and trust me the small white box thats there in the office in the morning is nowhere near as important as that crap mail they do everyday. The PO is really not good for parcels. I think its really not the lack of trying but the carriers have so much to do with just the mail that the parcels get curtailed daily unless its Priority and not Parcel Post. Sometimes they might even scan it as attempted on the road because they missed the delivery and get it again tomorrow. UPS is king period. The USPS just really has no chance in competing with UPS due to the fact that they suck.
