Default Power Pro or other line recommendations

I can always tell when I get the bug in the off season. First, thing I do is start relining all me reels with new mono/braid.... Since this involves
I am looking a changing my line to Power pro. wondering if anyone has experiences/preferences using it.
For the Surfcasters: Also, what lb are you using?
Does SWE carry it?

We've got it, along with Sufix, Stren, and Fireline. While the main way we sell line is in bulk, we do have Power Pro in smaller 300 yard filler spools. We'll have a lot more this year in smaller retail spools as well.

My current favorite braid is Sufix; it's great combo of toughness and good behavior on my reels. Power Pro is definitely sometimes a little questionable in the rocks, Fireline and Sufix seem to shine there as far as braids go.

I usually use 50# test, although I also have a spool or two of 65#. Fireline is different in diameter then most braids; the 30# Fireline I like to use equates to something in between the 50 and 60# Power Pro. Fireline might even be a step above Sufix when it comes to toughness.

So Sufix for surf. I am willing to try it. Do you use Sufix for light tackle saltwater spinning also?

I may give it a try this year, 14# Fireline has been my favorite since it came out for light tackle. The Sufix is really going to have to impress me to get me to switch.

To braid or not to braid?

Misters McKenna and Everin swear by mono in the rocks, Ande Back Country if I'm not mistaken. The Iron One waz a Yozuri Hybrid proponent up until this year.
Most all of the SOCO'ers I've talked wit are braiders. Then, pick your poison ~though Fireline is most used, I think.

Have yet to make the leap to braid, although towards the end of the Fall Run last year I spooled me pluggin' set-up w/PowerPro 50. I know that the Crazy One goes braid to mono for his chunkin' and swim shaddin' set-up from tha surf.

So here's my quandry. Sounds like for eeling/ sluggos/hvdy rocks chunking my best bet on my 7'6" fibreglass spinner is 50# BCtry-mono to a 80#BigGame-mono shock?

Next, would be pluggin'/med structure chunking with 50# FLine-braid to 80# BigGame-mono on me 10' surf shtick and 704Z.

Lastly, the Trophy Hunter set-up if I'm listening and readin' things right would be 80#braid to 100#+ mono leader on a 12' surfrod and I'm leaning 4500 Shimano BR, but have equally been advised towards a convench to wrastle in the "feesh of a lifetime".

Two questions, which reel with which rod would you use on the BIG stick and why; secondly, are my #'s and types right for the lines on said rod and reel? Keep in mind I'm not budgeted for VS/LAMI-LOOMIS, though someday I hope to own the ultimate rod and reel. More like the PENN Products or something comparable to them? Thanks as always for your help.

Soon, hopefully. We've got a lot of things we want to fix/improve (some people can't really see or notice) and following that there should be a flood of new product online.
