Default Does striper fishing get hot again?

It is early September, and the striper fishing has been pretty slow the last few weeks. Is there a time that should be ggod before its over? I just started last year, and I was so bad last year, so don't know if this month, next month, or even any of November is the better time to go? And should I be upper bay, lower bay, out front?
Any and all input is so welcome.

From what I understand and have experienced, water temperature is the key. When the water is too warm the fish move further out or deeper. Too cold and the fish move towards warmer climates. The best striper fishing I find is in the spring and fall when the water is in the mid50's low 60's.

I have caught schoolies in the upper bay in December and January as I suspect the stick around due to the discharge from the power plant. I am looking forward to cooler temps with the resulting drop in water temp.

I am fairly new to the whole scene also and have recieved much of my education from reading various articles and getting out there and exploring various areas, tides etc. As someone said in a previous post half the fun is in the hunt.

It seems to depend on the migration route. Some years the bass fishing is as hot as the bluefishing is now. Other years the bass seem to skip the Newport coast. We will just have to wait and see.

It has everything to do with the movement of bait regardless of water temp.
