sc has some great fishing at times....off the top of my head you will deffinetly have shots at speck and drum....not likely mosters but to 20lbs....wade the flats and get some local knowledge on techniques. also sometime soon they get a run of monster tarpon in sc...not sure if its a boat game only but....not likely any bass or blues...i know some of the rivers down there have bass but not many and migratory stripers almost never make it south of cape hatteras and thats in feb/march...blues are mostly noth by that point as well. ocean beaches should be interesting, deff shots at sharks if you have the gear, pampano, maybe grouper and snapper further out best bet just fish, ask some locals but the old saying, particuarly in places u have not fished allways applies, u cant catch if ur hooks not in the water ![]()

I believe they get "trout" (same as specks Arden?) from shore. Bucktails with soft plastic tails used to be popular at inflows/outflows (like breachways). Some places have long wooden peirs for fishing too. Most of the boat charters will go for spanish or king mackeral, but not sure if its the right time of year. A little internet/phone recon should get you the info you need. Good luck Hookem

I have some experience fishing around Charleston SC. As a disclaimer, I was there October through May so I don't know what happens in the area during the summer. Threading a shrimp onto a 3/4 - 1oz white jighead and fishing in the tidal area of the rivers was productive way to catch seatrout and redfish. Mud minnos on the back of jigheads worked well also. White curly tail grubs would also work, but not quite as well as either of the aforementioned. If you know someone with a boat, find an oyster bed or a grass bed, the seatrout and redfish like to position themselves around those areas. I don't remember what the regulations on fishing were but unlike RI, you do need a liscense to fish in the sea. Hope this helps
