Split ring on the nose?

Some plastic swimmers, come w/ a split ring on the nose loop. If you're using a duolock or breakaway clip, do you need that? I always take them right off, even if I tie direct w/ a loop knot. Anyone else? -John

That's basically it. If you tie direct keep the split ring on. I pre tie my leaders and use mostly break away and sometimes coastlock snaps. Because I use snaps I remove the split rings.
