I have enjoyed charlie soars work for the better part of the twenty years I have lived in Rhode Island. His newest work steming the tide is not a how to book but rather stories. Some of these stories make points that are related to striper fishing however the majority are stories related to bass fishing. I particularly liked charlies stories of growing up in hard times. However my favorite part of the book was the discription of cutty and the guides there. Overall I really enjoyed the book and cant wait for the next installment of charlies writing be it in the New England Fisherman, the fall river herald or On The Water.
